Equipment Rental Liability & Terms of Use

By engaging our services and renting interpretation or audio-visual equipment from Interpreter DC, the Client agrees to the following terms regarding the custody, care, and liability of all provided hardware.

Condition of Equipment and Inspection All equipment is rigorously tested, sanitized, and verified to be in perfect working order prior to deployment at your event. The Client or their designated representative is encouraged to inspect the equipment upon delivery or setup. Any pre-existing damage or malfunction must be reported to our on-site technicians immediately. Failure to report issues upon receipt constitutes acknowledgment that all gear was received in optimal, working condition.

Loss, Damage, and Replacement Liability During the entire rental period, the Client assumes full responsibility for the custody, security, and care of all rented equipment. In the event of loss, theft, misplacement, liquid damage, drop impact, or any other form of physical or technical damage resulting from negligence or misuse by attendees or venue staff, the affected equipment will be billed directly to the Client. The charges will reflect the exact replacement costs listed below.

Loss of Use and Incidental Fees If specialized equipment is damaged or unreturned, the Client may also be responsible for additional "loss of use" fees. This covers the rental revenue lost by Interpreter DC while the equipment is out of commission being repaired or replaced for subsequent scheduled events.

Event Insurance Recommendation We highly recommend that Clients secure comprehensive event insurance that specifically covers rented, third-party audio-visual and interpretation equipment. This helps protect your organization from unexpected out-of-pocket expenses in the event of accidental damage, theft, or unforeseen venue mishaps.
