I-589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal (Affirmative Asylum)
InterpreterDC's interpretation service for affirmative asylum interviews with USCIS stands out for its comprehensive approach, combining technical accuracy, professionalism, and profound empathy. The main objective is to ensure that your voice and your entire testimony are heard with clarity, fidelity, and respect, removing language barriers to achieve justice and opportunity. Below is a detailed breakdown of what you can expect from the service.
A Professional and Experienced Service:
Proven Experience: InterpreterDC has over two decades of experience in translation and interpretation services, including high-demand settings such as legal, diplomatic, and technical environments.
Certified Interpreters: The professionals are accredited linguists with multilingual fluency, competence in legal terminology, and knowledge of your case's context.
Focus on Integrity: The interpreter must be neutral, translate truthfully and completely (without additions or omissions), without bias, and be committed to translating with accuracy, fidelity, and integrity (signing an oath before USCIS).
Specialized Service: The company specializes in asylum interviews, understanding that these are a critical and emotionally sensitive time for the applicant.
What the Client Can Expect:
Confidentiality and Cultural Sensitivity: The service is provided with strict confidentiality and necessary cultural sensitivity, ensuring accuracy in delicate contexts.
Peace of Mind and Trust: The goal is for the applicant to feel calm and confident during the process. Clients like María José Rizo Rivas have highlighted this "human quality" and the feeling of calm and trust thanks to the interpreter's patience and precision.
Clear and Direct Communication: The interpreter will ensure that every nuance of your story reaches the asylum officer. To facilitate this process, the interpreter will always use the first-person grammatical voice ("I," "me," "my") to keep your testimony direct and personal.
Interview Guidance: The service includes best practice tips for the applicant, demonstrating a commitment to the success of their case. You will be advised to:
Speak concisely, briefly, completely, and accurately.
Pause after each idea so the interpreter can fully translate the message.
Agree on key terms (legal concepts, cultural references) with the interpreter beforehand.
Politely clarify any misunderstandings immediately.
In essence, InterpreterDC offers a service that goes beyond simple translation, acting as a reliable partner that ensures your testimony is conveyed faithfully, clearly, and with the respect that an asylum situation requires. One client, Carlos Ochoa, noted that the interpretation was "extremely accurate and effective, which gave me great peace of mind throughout the entire process."
